SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize members of Texas Democratic Women who are gathering at |
|
|
the State Capitol on April 15, 2025, to advocate for women and |
|
|
their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas Democratic Women was established in 1987 to |
|
|
promote the involvement of women in the political process and to |
|
|
assist in the growth of the Democratic Party in Texas; Blue |
|
|
Ribbon Lobby Day helps to uphold this mission by bringing |
|
|
together like-minded women and political leaders to highlight |
|
|
important issues that concern Texas women, including public |
|
|
education, health care, and economic security; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women meet |
|
|
with state legislators to discuss the rights women have to equal |
|
|
opportunities and equal protections under the law and to affirm |
|
|
the integral role women play in the economic prosperity of this |
|
|
state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to |
|
|
call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families |
|
|
and to work to affect positive change in the Lone Star State; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the members of Texas Democratic |
|
|
Women and extend to the visiting women and advocates best wishes |
|
|
for a rewarding Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the Capitol; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the organization in honor of this special occasion. |
