R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Walter and Ruth Drake |
|
|
of Waco celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
December 17, 2016; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Drake were joined in matrimony in 1966 |
|
|
at First Baptist Church Heights in Houston; over the years, they |
|
|
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their two |
|
|
sons, Darren and his wife, Christine, and Randall and his wife, |
|
|
Misty, as well as their five grandchildren, Amelia, Katie, |
|
|
Juliette, Caroline, and Zachary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Drake |
|
|
worked as a teacher and administrator with the Speegleville and |
|
|
Midway school districts for 41 years before retiring in 2007, and |
|
|
Mrs. Drake retired in 2010 after 32 years of employment with the |
|
|
Moody Memorial Library at Baylor University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Drake have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Walter and Ruth Drake on their 50th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Drake as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
