SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 965
         WHEREAS, Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School in San Antonio
  is celebrating the 85th anniversary of its founding in 2015; and
 
         WHEREAS, Established by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of
  Jesus in September 1929, the institution became a boys' military
  school in 1940, and it later added a girls' school in 1955; an
  early childhood Montessori Program was introduced in 1973, and in
  1987, the school once again became coed; and
 
         WHEREAS, Today, Mount Sacred Heart serves a diverse student
  body in grades pre-K through eight; in addition to providing
  traditional academic and honors programs, the school enables
  students to explore and expand their interests through special
  studies and extracurricular activities ranging from musical
  theater and the performing arts to athletics and robotics; and
 
         WHEREAS, For eight and a half decades, the faculty and staff
  of Mount Sacred Heart have committed themselves to equipping
  young Texans with a strong educational foundation, and it is
  indeed fitting that the school be recognized on this special
  occasion; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby commemorate the 85th anniversary of Mount
  Sacred Heart Catholic School and extend to all those associated
  with the institution sincere best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
