R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past decade, the Adopt A Highway |
|
|
Maintenance Corporation has rendered invaluable service to the |
|
|
State of Texas by working to keep our highways clean and free of |
|
|
litter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated efforts of AHMC have helped ensure |
|
|
that Texas highways have been well-maintained, thus providing a |
|
|
cleaner, safer environment for travelers and enhancing the overall |
|
|
beauty of our state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, AHMC has exemplified corporate stewardship through |
|
|
its partnership program, which encourages individuals, businesses, |
|
|
and organizations to take an active role in highway beautification |
|
|
and fosters a sense of responsibility and pride among Texas |
|
|
residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to contributing to the environmental |
|
|
health and quality of life in Texas, AHMC has significantly |
|
|
lessened the financial burden on the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation by reducing litter cleanup costs and minimizing the |
|
|
environmental impact of waste along our state's major |
|
|
thoroughfares; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Improving the safety and cleanliness of our highways |
|
|
is an endeavor that every Texan can appreciate, and the Adopt A |
|
|
Highway Maintenance Corporation's efforts to that end have made our |
|
|
state a more attractive and inviting place for all who share the |
|
|
open road; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Adopt A Highway Maintenance |
|
|
Corporation for its 10 years of dedicated service to the State of |
|
|
Texas and extend to the organization sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success with its outstanding work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for AHMC as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
|
of Representatives. |
