A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an annual report by the comptroller of public accounts |
|
|
on certain issues regarding the employment of veterans in this |
|
|
state. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 403.0306 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 403.0306. REPORT ON CERTAIN VETERAN EMPLOYMENT ISSUES. |
|
|
Not later than December 31 of each year, the comptroller shall |
|
|
prepare and submit to the legislature a report that, for the period |
|
|
covered by the report: |
|
|
(1) measures the effect of veteran-owned businesses on |
|
|
the gross domestic product of this state; and |
|
|
(2) includes an estimate of: |
|
|
(A) the number of employed and unemployed |
|
|
veterans in this state; and |
|
|
(B) the number of veteran-owned businesses in |
|
|
this state. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
