No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code as it relates to the protection of certain children through the operation of the child safety check alert list. The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to notify the Department of Public Safety (DPS) that DFPS is unable to locate a child after DFPS has attempted to locate the child for not more than 20 days. Upon receipt of notification from DFPS, the bill would require DPS to enter certain information into the child safety check alert list.

It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
