SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 670
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the National Council of Negro Women, Incorporated,
	Minnie H. Goodlow Page Section, on the occasion of its Ninth
	Annual Spring Hat Extravaganza and Tea; and
	WHEREAS, The National Council of Negro Women, Incorporated,
	is a voluntary, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping
	women improve the quality of life for themselves, their families,
	and their communities; and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding association of women sponsors
	educational, economic, social, cultural, and scientific self-help
	projects in order to achieve equality of opportunity and to
	eliminate prejudice and discrimination; it is supported by 38
	affiliated national organizations, including the National
	Women's Business Council and the Black Leadership Forum, and 250
	community-based sections; and
	WHEREAS, "A Salute to Women of Distinction" is the theme of
	this year's event, which will honor six women for their
	commitment to family, community, church, education, business,
	and government; and
	WHEREAS, This exceptional organization is truly deserving
	of recognition for its valuable work in supporting women and
	improving our society; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
	Legislature, hereby commend the National Council of Negro Women,
	Incorporated, Minnie H. Goodlow Page Section, on its many
	contributions to the community and extend to its members best
	wishes for a memorable Ninth Annual Spring Hat Extravaganza and
	Tea; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
	Texas Senate.
