| WHEREAS, Jessica Alvarado of Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande | ||
| has attained the Gold Award, the highest commendation in Girl | ||
| Scouting; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Receiving the Gold Award is a significant honor, | ||
| received by only a small fraction of those who are eligible; to | ||
| achieve this distinction, a young woman must meet requirements that | ||
| promote community service, personal growth, positive values, and | ||
| leadership skills; in addition, she must plan and implement a | ||
| special Girl Scout Gold Award project that meets a need in her | ||
| community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Alvarado has proven herself to be an exemplary | ||
| and productive member of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with | ||
| great pride on her commitment to excellence and her perseverance in | ||
| the pursuit of her goals; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Jessica Alvarado on her receipt of | ||
| the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her best wishes for the | ||
| coming years; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Alvarado as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
