R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Novert and Mary Merino of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 31, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Novert Merino and the former Mary Espinoza were |
|
|
united in matrimony on that special day in 1944 at a ceremony held |
|
|
in Bastrop; through the decades, they have nurtured a fulfilling |
|
|
marriage that has been made even richer with each passing year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Merino worked for Colorama Company and |
|
|
Renditions I, formerly Town and Country Decorators, for many years |
|
|
until his retirement; Mrs. Merino retired as a seamstress for |
|
|
Dunlap's after a career that spanned 32 years; the couple are active |
|
|
members in the Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |
|
|
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Novert and Mary Merino on the |
|
|
occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Merino as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
