| WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced | ||
| by a great and enduring love, Novert and Mary Merino of Midland | ||
| celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 31, 2009; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Novert Merino and the former Mary Espinoza were | ||
| united in matrimony on that special day in 1944 at a ceremony held | ||
| in Bastrop; through the decades, they have nurtured a fulfilling | ||
| marriage that has been made even richer with each passing year; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Merino worked for Colorama Company and | ||
| Renditions I, formerly Town and Country Decorators, for many years | ||
| until his retirement; Mrs. Merino retired as a seamstress for | ||
| Dunlap's after a career that spanned 32 years; the couple are active | ||
| members in the Baptist Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 | ||
| years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in | ||
| their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has | ||
| enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Novert and Mary Merino on the | ||
| occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Merino as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
