R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
|
with the death of Myles Julian Anderson of El Paso on November 9, |
|
|
2006, at the age of 20; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Myles Anderson was born in El Paso on August 31, |
|
|
1986, to Chris and Kayla Anderson; he attended Cathedral High |
|
|
School, where he showed true promise as an actor, accumulating more |
|
|
credits as a performer than anyone else in the school's history; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For a government class project, Mr. Anderson |
|
|
prepared a tribute in memory of a classmate who died while serving |
|
|
his country in Iraq; the resolution became H.R. 161, which was |
|
|
adopted during the 79th Texas Legislative Session; Mr. Anderson |
|
|
accompanied his mentor, Chief Justice Richard Barajas, to the State |
|
|
Capitol, and was present when the measure was read on the house |
|
|
floor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson went on to attend St. Edwards |
|
|
University in Austin, where he discovered a new passion, |
|
|
photography; he returned to El Paso to pursue this interest, and his |
|
|
work was exhibited in several local galleries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Myles Anderson is remembered by all who knew him as a |
|
|
warm and outgoing young man who befriended young and old alike; he |
|
|
was known for offering to cut the grass of elderly members of his |
|
|
church and to take nothing more than a glass of tea and some good |
|
|
conversation in return; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, memories of |
|
|
this beloved young Texan will forever endure in the hearts of the |
|
|
many people who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the life of Myles Julian Anderson and |
|
|
extend sincere condolences to his parents and to his other loved |
|
|
ones; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Myles |
|
|
Julian Anderson. |
