R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is holding
  its second annual Health Summit and Business Expo on September 30,
  2009; and
         WHEREAS, The HHCC is the leading advocate in the region for
  the economic and civic interests of the Hispanic business
  community; since its founding 30 years ago, this organization has
  gone from being one of the smallest chambers of commerce in Texas to
  one of the largest; and
         WHEREAS, Reflecting the dramatic growth of the city's
  Hispanic population, which has doubled since 1990, the chamber's
  membership has also increased spectacularly, rising from 500 to
  2,800 members over the past two years; in keeping with its
  burgeoning strength, the organization has recently relocated to a
  new building in downtown Houston; and
         WHEREAS, The chamber's annual Health Summit and Business Expo
  enables individual members and companies to come together in a
  dynamic setting to exchange information and insights, to showcase
  their products and services, and to forge new relationships and
  renew old ones; and
         WHEREAS, Contributing to the growth of Houston even during
  difficult times, the HHCC's annual Health Summit and Business Expo
  is a highlight of the Bayou City's business calendar and truly
  worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the second annual Health Summit and
  Business Expo of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and
  extend to the chamber and the expo's sponsors and attendees sincere
  best wishes for an exciting and informative event; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
